Akon goes Platinum in sales.

Akon produced track for Gwen Stefani, "The Sweet Escape," featuring himself, has been climbing up the CHR/POP charts throughout the holiday season, entering the Top 40 and while I wanna love you hasn't lost its bullet on the top 40, The song may peak at number 5 at this rate. "Don't Matter" has been hitting Rhythmic Airplay, however not making much of an impact yet. Let's just say, Hawaii loves the song; huge spins on KPHW-FM, KIKI-FM, and KDDB-FM, the song's Top 3 stations. However, the big news of the week is Akon's Album sales...
Akon’s Konvicted album sale has increased greatly in the last two weeks of sales, pushing his total actual sales over the 1 million mark. ‘Akon's "Konvicted" zooms 16-10 on a 60% increase to 227,000’ (billboard.com).
This week’s album sales brings his total to 1,045,756 copies sold, not to mention jumping back into the Top 10 of Billboard’s Top 200 albums. While “I wanna love you” and “Smack That,” continues to be in the top downloads. “Don’t Matter,” should do wonders for his album, and hopefully pushes him to the 2 Million in sales mark.
